Getting in the Gap

Making conscious contact with the Divine is necessary to access my inner state of calm, peace, and poise. A daily meditation practice, at minimum, is essential for all of us during these times of heightened stress in our world. Meditation takes me into the space between thoughts, a resting place for me, like a spa for the soul.

I can get into the gap by sitting and allowing the thoughts to pass by without grasping for them or letting them take me for a ride. The longer I sit, the deeper I go, and the greater the gap between thoughts. The soothing balm of Spirit relaxes my body as I surrender completely.

Studies have shown that we have somewhere between 60,000 and 80,000 thoughts daily – it’s noisy up there. Taking the time to get into the gap reduces the number of thoughts you have, thus reducing the noise.

From this space, we relax as we connect to the Infinite Presence, the Source of all Abundance. Settling into pure love and awareness, we begin to recognize that we are making the experience of our lives up as we go. Acknowledging that as things happen in our lives, we have a choice as to how we will perceive them and who we will be in the midst of them, and we activate our creative power.

The first step to manifesting any desire is to get into the gap – the space of no thought. The gap is like a corridor or vortex of transformation in which the personal psyche communicates with the cosmic psyche. The next step is to have a clear intention or goal that you bring into the gap with you. Third, let go of the outcome. The cosmic idea is always mightier and vaster than anything you could have imagined for yourself! Let it be the driver. I love using the words “This or something better!”  Lastly, let go and allow the Universe to handle the details.

Do you recall a time when you were trying to remember the name of a movie or an actor or actress in a film, and you struggled and struggled with no success? Tired of the struggle, you let go of your attachment to the outcome, and a little while later, the name flashed across the screen of your consciousness. Your mind was active and turbulent when struggling to recall the name. When you got quiet and slipped into the gap, the name was handed to you on a silver platter!

In summary, the four steps of the precise mechanism to manifest your desires are:
       • Get in the gap.
       • Bring your intention or goal into the gap.
       • Let go of your attachment to the outcome.
       • Let the Universe handle the details.

Remember that the purpose of entering the gap, which is the space between your thoughts, is to make conscious contact with the God of your understanding. Try this at home!

And so it is.
