Celebrate the Light
We experienced the longest day of the year this past Tuesday, the first day of summer. It’s a time of warmth and celebration of the return of light. The summer solstice reminds us to turn inward and find the nourishment needed within us to grow and evolve. It’s an invitation to embrace the electrifying power of the sun and the light within. It marks the midpoint of the year and a time of new beginnings.
Perhaps it’s time to make some new agreements with ourselves to propel us into the experience of a beautiful summer season. With so much going on in the world, it’s easy to get pulled into darkness and despair. Yet, in the midst of it all, there is something within you longing to express itself more than ever – your soul. You are ready to become more you than you ever have been.
The great 13th-century Persian poet and Sufi mystic Rumi wrote, “What you’re seeking is seeking you.” When you read or hear those words, they resonate deeply without needing an explanation. He is stating on multiple levels that there is an impulse within you seeking to awaken, which is the awakened part of yourself seeking to come forward and express itself.
St. Francis of Assisi said, “What we are looking for is what is looking.” So that tells me that we have already arrived, so now what?
We are called to remember that we were made in the image and likeness of the Divine, and since we can think, we must participate in our own unfolding and the evolution of humanity. Therefore, by releasing habits such as complaining, drama, and gossip, we create a suitable condition to manifest our deepest desires and what we are seeking.
When you plant a seed in the soil, and the condition is suitable, the seed will unfold. Similarly, the caterpillar has an instinct, an inner prompting to become a butterfly. Likewise, a chick inside of its egg has an instinctual desire to leave the confines of the shell, so it begins to peck away at it to come into a new world. You have an instinct to live the life of your dreams.
Summertime is here, and it’s an excellent time to shed the old ways of thinking and behaving that no longer serve you to become the butterfly you were born to be. The condition is perfect for your new magnificently radiant, bright, brilliant self to shine.
I celebrate the light of consciousness within me, you, and all. As I reflect upon the celestial potential for consciousness to awaken for everyone, I’m filled with giddy bliss, for I know and believe it is possible and happening now.
I’m deeply grateful on this day as I harvest my good and appreciate Mother Earth for the abundant bounty and harvest always provided. What a gift. Onward we go, raising the vibration, up-leveling consciousness, moving forward, and advancing further into the light.
And so it is.
