SUMMARY:Día de los Muertos: Community Ofrenda Building
DESCRIPTION:Día de los Muertos: Community Ofrenda Building\n\n\n\nWednesday\, October 28\, 2026 | 2–8 PM\n\n\n\nAwakening Ways Center for Spiritual Living7840 Morro Rd\, Suite 100A • Atascadero\, CA 93422\n\n\n\nJoin Rev. Elizabeth and our volunteers as we create a community ofrenda (altar) in honor of Día de los Muertos\, the Day of the Dead. \n\n\n\nBeginning at 2 PM\, volunteers are invited to help build the framework for our community altar. \n\n\n\nFrom 4–8 PM\, everyone is welcome to stop by and add photographs\, meaningful objects\, and special offerings to remember loved ones who have passed. \n\n\n\nWho can be remembered? Loved ones\, beloved pets\, family members\, friends\, community members\, leaders\, ancestors\, artists\, or anyone who holds a special place in your heart. \n\n\n\nWhat can you bring? Consider bringing framed photographs\, treasured keepsakes\, flowers\, or something that reflects the personality\, passions\, or favorite things of someone you wish to remember. Perhaps it was a favorite candy\, a beloved book\, or a special memento that brings back fond memories. \n\n\n\nRev. Elizabeth\, for example\, plans to honor her father with a photograph\, his favorite Mr. Goodbar candy\, and a picture of his beloved red hotrod Ford truck. \n\n\n\nIn the tradition of Día de los Muertos\, the ofrenda is a place to honor and remember those who have passed\, celebrating the love\, stories\, and connections that continue beyond their physical lives. Marigolds\, candles\, photographs\, and meaningful offerings are traditional elements of these altars\, symbolically welcoming the spirits of loved ones. \n\n\n\nCan’t make it on October 28?You can arrange an alternative drop-off time by contacting our office administrator\, Mary Bishop.Email: info@awakeningways.orgPhone: 805-391-4465 \n\n\n\nWe look forward to creating this meaningful community altar together and honoring the lives and memories of those we hold dear.
